On my Ubuntu Laptop, Celdran Stunt

I really like the ubuntu and the prospect of going completely MS-less. One big hurdle is Multi-Media programs, like being able to go without the Adobe Suite. Games are not much of a problem since I plan to play old games in this laptop, like Counter Strike: Condition Zero. It feels very Self-Sufficient going Open Source. #freeCarloceldran is a great way to begin the hostilities regarding the fate of the nation: Secular vs Theocracy. Although there was a thread in the FF forums regarding precisely this kind of stunt and its consequences, there is one aspect we didn't count on: the length the church will go to punish the offender. Carlo, inadvertently jumping the gun has open up a lot of opportunities. As for problems and consequences, it only serves to give RH and secularist supporters more fuel for their fires. I'm lucky I'm outside this whole thing happening, I've kinda stop arguing for the sake of keeping myself happy. Although, if Carlo needs our support and people

2 Articles, one already sent to the Editors

I wrote about an article on being Nice, Based on Robert Axlerod's work in Iterated Prisoners. Strange that I'm using math to explain diplomacy. Then my next article is loss aversion, but unlike my experience with the subject matter, explaining it at length by giving more concrete examples to work with. What I learned about loss aversion is frustrating, particularly as it is cognitive bias that consciousness or understanding it can barely make a dent (it can make a dent, but just barely) on how it influences our decision making. Skepticism and Freethinking, means trying to achieve a cold state by which we can overcome the Loss Aversion we have when giving up cherished beliefs, expectations and familiarity. I guess later on, I will try to go and explain achieving a better grasp of a cold rational state and how it makes our hot emotional state even more enjoyable or controlled from excess or optimized.

Babbies Today

2 birthdays . One my brother in-laws and the other my Kaptains little girl. My wife is almost 5 months pregnant, so it is on my mind. I try not to think about it, but it does bother me. My last dream was holding a dead baby, actually 2 dead babies. My Id is so pessimistic, which reminds me of how my ego is the one thats carrying all that optimism. In the end, it is really our conscious ability that makes us happy. Unhappiness is so unproductive and destructive. In the dream I was making jokes even when I had 2 dead babies. They were not funny and it just shows how it is such a deeply imbeded reflex that even in my more primitive and reactive state I use it. Babies and maturing minds reminds me that how we look at the world is more by the Coping Skills we are given and instilled with. I plan to give our kid ALOT of coping skills and problem solving skills to improve on it more. My brother-in-law's son. The daughter (below) of my Kaptain.

Burden of Proof.

Hay nako. If God was only visible then the burden of proof would be for the atheists. As every religous would key in, "look at the world". I have to say, that assumes God via inference. One has to prove there is a God in the first place. So the burden of Proof is with the Theists. If God is everywhere, then where ever I am, I should be able to DIRECTLY see and God. The burden of proof is contrary to what is obvious, NOT what is culturally instilled. God is a cultural idea, its not even easily explained through inference, when there is so much science about everything already. Matatawag akong Pilosopo, but I have to say in other arguments like RH, I had to bring a ton of science when we should be deferring to the established ideas of Science not CULTURE (in the case of burden of proof).

Quacks, Ruminating on too much information

The astrologer told my mom I should be in the states and my brother, melchior here. I guess when you have a skeptic in the family, who doesn't put any stock into that crap you'd want him to be as far away from your income generator as possible. Still a skeptic, and a skeptic who is fascinated with deception and cognitive bias. Too much? Sometimes I'm worried about how I'll turn out when my ability to gather information improves? I was walking in the mall, getting us some dinner when I wondered how a world looks to a deception expert. He would be able to spot who's following who. Who in the group wants to be here or who is just along for the ride. Walking to work I got to thinking, how much information is enough and will at affect my relationships adversely. Particularly when I start min maxing and using social and market norms to my advantage. Dan Arielly's piece on the matter got me thinking seriously about my relationships and how the Social Norms is part of m

Test of Faith: The Contradiction

Why Does God Test Faith? When you test your trust in someone, then it stops being faith anymore. Faith depends on having NO way to confirm the truth of a belief. So why Does God Test your Faith? Why can't he have Faith in You? If God is truly Omniscient then it is Impossible for him to have Faith in anything, because he has a way to account or confirm the truth of it. Why then are we not seeking to try to Know everything, just like God? My wife was being nagged by her mother about Tests of Faith in the pregnancy. It gets annoying and insulting to the intellect when people approach life with such conflicting and nonsensical standards and do not do anything to learn more about it.

Market Manila - Inasal na Manok / Bacolod Style Grilled Chicken a la Marketman - General

Market Manila - Inasal na Manok / Bacolod Style Grilled Chicken a la Marketman - General : "Marinate the chicken for about an hour (not much longer as the vinegar will have almost completely “cooked” the meat.)" What's wrong with the vinegar cooking the chicken? Doesn't that mean, if its cooked by acid, much of the moisture is still there and you just have to leave it in the grill a much shorter time? As for achuete oil, it needs flavor. I know it doesn't really supposed to have flavor, but when I eat it I use it as a way to conduct the long red chili and add some more seasoning (sodium) to the dish. I was thinking of dissolving a chicken cube into the oil. I'd like to add ginger, and chili. Then top with fresh raw shredded garlic (I began to like eating raw garlic because of Korean food). If I can only save this for other dishes. Beef Yakiniku . I bought frozen Beef Yakiniku for 240 a kilo. Thats about half the cost of Bacon. Although it was American beef,

Life with Trolls

We can never remove trolls from our daily lives. It is better to accept presence and develop better ways in managing them, without curtailing their right to make everyone realize how deceptive they are. The other great thing about them is what I learned in Game Theory: Be provoked, be ready to punish those who betray you or others. Basically trolls who act inexcusably are at the mercy of those who feel justice needs to be served. They allow us to practice that approach toward assholes and refine our technique. Also, they are a great asset to analyze. They hide their identity and try as much as possible to deprive you with information, with the limits of their ability yet all you really need to analyze if they are "struck" is by the level of escalation. This troll, has begun changing his use of language and has resorted to sarcasm avoiding evidence or any effort to quote and apply basic critical dissection of what is said, illuminating facts. Note that he is trying to hide as

Rico Puno qualified to handle peace and order - Palace | ABS-CBN News | Latest Philippine Headlines, Breaking News, Video, Analysis, Features : "He was also board member of the National Range Officers Institute at Philippine Practical Shooting Association, and was involved in the staging of shooting competitions in the country and abroad. He is a known gun enthusiast, reports said." If you were able to Follow the ANC live interview, and just watch the comparative body language he was the least sincere person there. He was making excuses a lot, deflecting, and they were able to find out that he used the situation as to have the "command center" in Emerald Hotel at 7, where there was no TV when shots were fired as EARLY as 6! I hope he gets away with it. Really, because it will just give another sovereign country to brow beat our government and find more incompetents. When 2 peoples feel like they were cheated, that should be enough outrage for something to be done ri

Wow, Some one is still a big fan of me.

Facebook | I OPPOSE THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BILL's Wall : "two trolls created by NIKOLAS BALTHAZAR who's now hiding in the dark..." Interesting, I left Facebook so that I don't have a compromised identity and I find this in searching about myself, to see how compromised is my personal information. Its nice to know, I've instilled some fear into some Psychopaths. On another note, someone else is now fighting that obj*****ectivist troll. I've not been participating in so many arguments, nor am I afraid to post. Its interesting how life has improved after facebook and deleting my account.

DILG chief’s confirmation hangs over hostage crisis—senator - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos Yup ruin the presidents few competent allies. Leave him with the incompetent ones . Once all the competent allies are removed, don't be surprised with a sudden change of government. I wonder if China is interested in wrestling the country from the US as the foreign patron?
