The Down Pour and the Rest

I had a lot of other things planned to talk about when I got around to it. I've been busy because of the "state of calamity" a super downpour that even flooded the elevated area of the Condo I live in. So many people are left homeless and so much has been wasted. My mother in law's house was flooded, with the 1st floor being filled up to 5ft of water in less than 3 hours. Accounting . I was supposed to have gotten to write, but I was worried about my home work and my social obligations. My homework by the way is accounting and the book I'm using fails to live up to its Preface of Claims: "As an introductory course where most (if not all) of the students have no prior training in accounting." It fails to deliver. I would write an Amazon Review about it, when I'm done with the class, so that I don't screw my passing chances up when someone might choose to read my review of the book. I think I would be better off with a Dummies Book. The book is Acc

Reading up on Entrep and it is pretty much what I expect it to be. Of course, I do remember that it was a very long process of discover of what I wanted to do and what I can do. I won't go exactly on Entrep cause you can read books and theories about it everywhere. One particular thing I've realize but only up to now have found the best way to communicate is exactly why being well rounded matters (and why being able to identify your Intelligences and Strengths are important). In the shortest possible way to explain it (for me at least): One gains the ability to shift ground quickly and towards a number of choice strengths appropriate to the challenge. Being well rounded has advantages as one tries to accomodate new skills with previously learned patterns. I have many personal patterns going on in my head, particularly from gaming. The Munchkin in me has found the puzzle that has an answer with multiple fold rewards- business (or generally growth). One common mistake my previous

Things to Consider when Voting

I've heard of the Platform of Gibo (Teodoro) but Promises are just air. When reading into your politicians, consider their motives more than their promises. Look at the consistency of their actions over their vows to change. Have you every changed much of your life? Ask yourself how much you have change and how much you have stayed the same. Its hard to change certain aspects of our life. So we look to the consistency of our candidates for the best clues if there is credibility to their claim. In respects with motives- all candiates have one motive in mind (power). Promises are great, but silence and consistency is better. I like that Villar didn't say quite exactly he was going to pursue or protect the Arroyos. Lets not even put that in the table, because I'd rather tackle it when we get there. Having not promised or acted in a way commitedly protective of the Ruling Administration is an awesome bit of statesmanship. Its close to being honest but without sabotaging one'

Why I will certainly not vote for Teodoro

He is the Arroyos Standard Bearer, If you want justice then you will certainly not get it with this loyal Dog of the Arroyos. His wife, a congress woman (and former beauty queen) is a ChaCha thrall, which emphasizes how loyal this guy is. Yeah, he maybe "smarter" and better qualified than Noynoy but between the two Noynoy actually is starting to grow bigger balls then Teodoro. Noynoy is actually facing off the Catholic Church, who was quick to sell him and was just as quick to attack him after Noynoy's RHB support. I guess the thing about being where he is, Noynoy only owes 2 people for his position: and they are both dead. Still I'm unchanged in my decision. I'd rather Villar run, there is a better chance of him serving the Arroys on a silver platter for the public to distract from his own inconsitencies and to sate the lust for justice of the people. Since the RHB is an overwhelmingly popular Bill the Church's horns are showing Padre . Playing political gam

Why I'm learning to Fight

I like guns. But I never have (and never will) own one. I think it's just too dangerous to have one around the house, even with a lot of care. We're only human after all. I used to play airsoft. I had the MP5, M4A1, and the P90... :) - Harmless Harmless, its people like you who should own guns. That's the irony about them if you've heard the two cases of accidental gun death in the country months ago. Its the people who understand and are constantly aware of how much they are a responsibility who deserve the right to own one. In my understanding of the history of how meritocracies evolved, it was the freemen class's main defining characteristic was their right to bear arms. Comparing the history of France and England it was typical case study of how the critical mass of armed citizens were able to shift the balance of power towards meritocracies since power shifted from the elites towards the greater masses. In Game Theory, its like an exercise in equilibrium.

Comic from Cat and Girl Justice Please You will never see this kind of Justice in the Philippines, not even in its History. Thank you Taiwan, you give me hope for your example.

Joe Wilson Disrespecting Obama because he's Black

How come when people dissenting Bush's Policies (in the proper forums) are being unamerican but when people are dissenting Obama in a solemn event its Free Speech? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/10/us/politics/10wilson.html?_r=1&hp http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/09/AR2009090903585.html?hpid=topnews I think in light of the health care controversy or misinformation, the hecklers of Obama feel like they can disrespect him cause he's black. Why of all presidents was he being attacked so readily and callously. I've read both the articles and I wasn't there BUT this stinks badly of Racism. Of all the times such outbursts had gone without a severe enough reprimand, creating confusion and sowing panic THIS outburst just put matters on a whole other light. This guy is basically saying: Obama what's the worse you can do, HA! that admittance of power and the way Joe Wilson CHANGED the entire center and focus of the debate to his vagrant act

Noy Noy Nanaman! (Again!)

This is the very sad and equivalent of the Philippines to America's Health Care Reform as it is a Crisis of Ignorance and Misinformation. http://acabaya.blogspot.com/ http://www.quezon.ph/2009/09/03/the-long-view-statesman/ and across Cyberspace and Philippine News http://jemygatdula.blogspot.com/2009/09/whom-noynoy-will-be-dealing-with.html** (Oh Noynoy, Oh the Philippine >facepalm< face="arial">We have people clamouring about Noynoy. In his interviews, his blog, his everything... he has only ONE thing going for him: His BLood Line. His Grades Are Mediocre and he didn't Perform even well in college His Professional Career is completely Shambles Among his Peers, he has the 3rd worst number of bills into law and 70% of them (because it was roughly 5 out of 7) were unimportant and were not life improving bills. This guy is getting all the attention because his mom died and his dad is a dead hero. In his personal life, he is currently dating his former staffer.

Did not go to work today

Got the lasik Work up. They told me that I will have blurred vision for 3-6 hours after the 2 hour examination. This is because of the drops used to dilate my pupils blur my nearsight (and I only have near sight). This obviously has increased my light sensitivity... and what was not mentioned about the whole procedure is the nausea having your eyes (where you get 90% of your data) bombarded with light. Good thing I keep bonamine in my bag at all times. I guess mild cases of motion sickness merits a Quirk in GURPS. Wow, it debilitated me for the rest of the day. I could only do simple tasks, like making a tuna sandwitch spread for future sandwiches. Getting a Lot of Hits in Game in the Brain thanks to RPG bloggers. Having a ton of Ideas to write about, and very little time to write them. I tend to have to chose the best, the easiest, and the most relevant from the lot.

Political Rant: Noynoy = Ninoy (NOT IN THIS REALITY!)

An online's dictionary's description of the the meaning of Politics to Power and Control. Power and control are not tools of the devil and not something "good" people cannot comprehend. Politics is about Strategy, Social Manuvers, and Bargains. Quite simply Game Theory explains Politics in the cut and dry simplicity Math can. Unfortunately I'm not a Mathematician, but I am a informed observer who can point out some of the nuances that are part of the problem. The first problem, is particularly about the Future of the Philippine Nation. On the car ride to work, talking with my wife, it is a very very sad day for the Philippine Nation when Kriss Aquino has MUCH better character than her OLDER brother Noynoy. I admit that I yelled tot he heavens that I would not vote for Kriss, but If it was between those two I felt really depressed about my country's prospects. Noynoy... Uggg. Someone who is RIDING his parent's populatiry (and RECENT DEATH) as a presidentiab

Lesson of the Lame Duck

Ah, it seems that we are doomed to repeat history again. you know why they want you to vote Mar and Noynoy? It is because it is under a Lame Duck president, the corrupt will have the most freedom. Power is nothing to do Honor or Righteousness. Power is about Cunning, Strength of Will (to make enemies, hard decisions, and risk one's life going against the grain), and Charisma. Sorry, I still remember the Cory Administration. She may not have been corrupt but she could barely control her generals and politicos. I remember that lesson VERY well.

Philippine Historians' Dilemma: What is Philippine Culture?

Bourdaine's episode in No Reservations about the Philippines quite adequately describes the reality of the culture. Culture is described by, quite simply, "how we do things" (and all the existential iterations of the idea). Philippine culture is highly stratified by its economic classes, regions and the way different cultures (western, Chinese, and Muslim) affects each of these classes. You can even say we are the Asian equivalent of America, where you have the largest variety of race, ethnic cultural variety living in one nation. We were malays, impregnated by the Spanish, the Sepoys (Rape of Manila by the British), the Dutch (dutch colony what now is in River Side Marikina), the Japanese (19th century colony of San Miguel, and the Japanese Occupation), and America. The same traits that make Filipinos so easy to get along with foreigners are the very traits that make Filipinos cultural versatile, and this is the lack of a strong dominant culture. Although, you can make
