Political Rant: Noynoy = Ninoy (NOT IN THIS REALITY!)
An online's dictionary's description of the the meaning of Politics to Power and Control. Power and control are not tools of the devil and not something "good" people cannot comprehend. Politics is about Strategy, Social Manuvers, and Bargains.
Quite simply Game Theory explains Politics in the cut and dry simplicity Math can. Unfortunately I'm not a Mathematician, but I am a informed observer who can point out some of the nuances that are part of the problem.
The first problem, is particularly about the Future of the Philippine Nation. On the car ride to work, talking with my wife, it is a very very sad day for the Philippine Nation when Kriss Aquino has MUCH better character than her OLDER brother Noynoy. I admit that I yelled tot he heavens that I would not vote for Kriss, but If it was between those two I felt really depressed about my country's prospects.
Noynoy... Uggg. Someone who is RIDING his parent's populatiry (and RECENT DEATH) as a presidentiable. His siblings have voiced their opposition to him running and yet he keeps entertaining the idea. He has called numerous times for people to wear yellow for support, BLUNTING the philppine Patriotism behind the ACT which was done in MEMORY OF HIS MOTHER and was not meant for his own political agenda.
What is aggravating to the Intellect is the HUGE LEAP of Assumption that Noynoy = Ninoy!?!? This is a guy who has virtually done nothing but SLEEP ON THE SENATE FLOOR! In fact of all the videos of the Senate these YEARS his greatest contribution to Philippines are the ZZZZss of his snores.
It took the master manipulator Vilar to state the obvious: "Why only the sons of Presidents run for President, Why can't a poor man's son!" I know its a political Ploy but it is one that I wish I could use to THROTTLE my countrymen.
To answer Kathy's Inquiry, you want someone that the Other Players are afraid off taking power. If Mar or Noynoy came to power- whose afraid of them (no one) and if no one is afraid of them who can they POLICE! I know I'm choosing a lesser evil and an evil that has the potential to do to the country over again what Marcos did (read up Vilars scandals) but like in History : Marcos vs the Old Guard, people would still pick Marcos over the Old GUARD any day. As I would have to go to Villar over the Other Candidates.
If Villar comes to power, there will the possibility of a Political Blood Bath, which is something we need for this country's survival. Upon swearing into office Villar's first task is remove all doubts and consolidate his powerbase. This means Divide and Conquer with the use of deals and pardons for those who previously opposed him and who may stand to threaten him. Of course there will be those who will not "bend the knee" and this provides him an excelent example for reinforcing his claim (to the throne).
With such a leader things are stable, he may have some HUGE rackets like the pervious administration and will have learned all of GMA's old tricks (which includes wire tapping and possibly political abductions and killings) my only consolation is that he has much stronger grasp on the country's direction. This translates to Economic Priority. If he wants to make a bigger racket than GMA then he has to make the economy grow more than her so the cries of corruption are drowned out by the political whitewash. Among the other candidates who wil certainly try to Steal money from the country, he is the one who will keep us smiling when he does.
That, unfortunately, is the best president the Philippines can hope for. Stable, Capable, and Keeps us happy.
