Not much use for words

Image
I want more... sadly there are major financial and physical limitations and considerations for such. I get why people would want such a big family. Growing up with 4 other sibs, i kinda miss it but 2 really would be the most sustainable given how hard it is to make a living these days.

Cheap CDR-king Offices

Again another wishful thinking post. CDR-king, the largest electronics and computer accessory store in the Philippines is cornering the market because they are acquiring generic electronics and computer accessories from China. These are goods that have their production life ended and have been sold off, or found a way to keep producing sans the IP overheads. So these generic brands produced at 1/3 to 1/10 the cost of their former, branded selves. CDR-king is now importing cheap quality (crappy quality) office furniture. I saw them selling cubicle pannels at $90 a corner. If you add it all up, the cheap quality station costs about $250. A complete workstation costs about $340 each after buying around 200 worth of stations. But just comparing the $250 CDRking furniture to the cheap and old Cubicle units you can find in any office, the quality is a very far gap. Maybe I would use the CDR-king offices to furnish a public school... but given that our Clients throw their old furniture at us

Buying My Own Clothes: Military Wear

I've gotten to buying my own clothes. at 32 i still let my mom buy me clothes. It makes her happy and most of the stuff she gets me is for works, like barongs. For casual wear, I've come to like wearing military fatigues. The khaki fatigues, which is great for the dry climate of the playing fields these days, is perfect for basic casual wear. I love it that it is so durable that I can be rough with it. It has extra ass-padding, for the times I have to crawl on my butt. Also, Lito, our military gear supplier, has a lot of cheap and simple cotton OD, Tan and Cammo shirts. I spend 600php on pants which look just as good as the branded types but much more durable. Khaki work pants are worth 800-1200php in some place like BENCH. I already have 2 military styled overcoats for work. Olive drab, Khaki or Tan, Greys and Blacks are pretty much how I want my wardrobe to look like. Simple, clean and practical. Able to withstand rough play.

I hate Itunes: Makes my tablet PC experience harder

I hate Itunes. It is the most miserable part of my tablet computer experience. I cannot just dump my PDFs (mostly stuff from Wikipedia I converted to PDF, my gaming magazine subscription I converted to PDFs, and my Gaming Books) There is all these syncing that annoys me. I'm too cheap to buy from the Itunes store. All I am ok with are the free stuff. I want to migrate to Android, especially since I'm a Google and Ubuntu guy. Oh yeah, and Itunes is NOT compatible with my Ubuntu. its like Mac: "If you use Ubuntu, you are too poor to afford an IPAD anyway". Well fuck you Mac and your Ishit. Thanks for getting the ball rolling for the Iphone and Ipad, but we Open standards will take it from here. Fuck you and your restrictive, productivity SUCKING barriers.

Short Handed

I wish my 2 other siblings are here, our family has a lot of work. We are not in dire financial times, but if they like the quality of life they have grown accustomed to, it would be great and give me and Gaspar a hand. It is their money too, at stake. I know when I need help. I wish little sister, would consider joining us after prat. Melchior, very unlikely, might find something worthwhile and challenging shooting down these challenges.

Education also means nlearning to know what you want

Education and munchkinism It seems I'm back to appreciating education again. In my research regarding the training of soldiers, I wanted to learn the behavioral and mental economics that went into creating one. Before getting into it, I had to look back at my high school and college education. I used the US and Phil system. Tried to look at the assumptions and work away from the biases towards a more objective appreciation.  Combining the data in a google docs paper I was working on for also game purposes I am remarkably surprised at how educational and strange this was. Anyway the meat of it was really how mindset was about gaming. In a game we take toys and we play with them. In this case we take tools and build things.  Understanding education at a level of play and trying to optimize the choices based on the rules of the game (real life) and at least satisfying a short term goal (fun).  When I was looking at high school, play was an important part of intelligence. When I learne

Remembering Hell

Hell was when my projects were stuck in limbo because my boss would not conform to their written requirements. You couldn't even bring up that breach because you are a subordinate. I was not the only person demoralized, we suffered huge amounts of resignations from our sales and others. looking back at Hell, I realized how much easier I have it now and how much I would fight to keep things that way. I was supposed to go to a meeting with our delinquent company. My dad and my new boss were going to play good cop and bad cop... well according to my mother it was good cop and bad cop. to me it was not good cop and bad cop. Dad was just one more person to make sure things were objective. My new boss is just as professional as those strict professors. He does meet people half way, I've been to the meetings and I saw all the chances they got. And the chances they got were as easy as any student would get. I've seen harsher, by my previous bosses. So when they say good cop and bad
