[old news] Anino Raid. Talking to some autodesk service people and my boss who is a veteran 3d modeler and animator, for learning purposes Autodesk won't really chase after the small fry. In fact Piracy is one of the best ways of building a large User base for a program. If you think about it, the cost of the software and the cost to train people to use it makes for it a terribly expensive investment.

Small time piracy, is in the equation of every major software company. Its an unspoken rule, all they have to do is leak it and not act on the piracy and they will have an edge over their competitor. These companies don't have active dedicated agents looking for pirated copies, why else are all the major computer pirate hubs not raided frequently?

The only time you should be worried about being raided is if you can afford to pay and you're not paying. Its not hard to spot a company who is earning THAT MUCH. It's the MEDIA business and getting your stuff out is what makes it easy for that Software company to check you out. They aren't even the type to fast draw to the law, its easier just to give a gentle nudge here and there with an offer of their improved services. Why bring legal forces in unless its a BIG and obvious infraction: something like a company every filipino gamer knows about?

I guess when Anino got raided and from their public statement, you might think they could have handled the matter MUCH better.
