Corruption and the Game.
Many Filipinos are currently struggling to understand corruption and how to stop it. Personally, i feel that they could be looking at it with more secular-humanist eyes than with the presumption that all people are inherently "good".

Surprisingly I had to re-examine what this means in the light of secularist-humanist point of view. People are NOT inherently good, because good is a purely circumstantial and shifting concept. The world is not about "Preventing" Evil... instead it is about making things work and for the mutual gain, respect and security of all... and to describe this as "good" may make one fall in the rationalizing hole that religion has left in everyone's psyche.

Corruption is a System, a parasitic one, which exists to reward those who perpetuate it. People are not corrupt to perserve the Ideal of corruption... they are corrupt because within the real limitations and needs they have in their view- the course of action that pleases them happens to be corruption.

Righteousness tends to not exist in the school of Doubters, one cannot believe to strongly on anything EXCEPT to believe that we should always question everything especially our own reasons. There is no righteousness, as there is no Villainous reason why the government is in efficient=> corrupt.

Right now, the balance of power is heavily against the masses. In an Ideal world, the masses, when given power will enforce and develop internal organization and consistency to sate the general human desire for justification and legitimacy. But now, power is to the few and the few understand that that their family and the generations after them have a secure future at the current status quo.

For me, a balance of power is a greater certainty that the generations that perpetuate after me may have the means to reach their potential and happiness etc... if the system was more "balanced"- to the others who are already on top: it was so hard to get there- Why do I have to drag everyone else there with me?

Thats the thing about corruption and the status quo; it takes more than just strategically placed policy... it is also about how we choose and what we choose for the future. There is no good or evil, just certain disaster and avoidable disaster.
