This makes for almost 95% of all transactions with Phil. Postal Service being met with serious incompetence when they give wrong postage stamps, ask for bribes, and continually lose all mail but junk mail makes just want to warn people about it. Its acceptable if it was 50% of the experience, although tipping past that to the 90's range is already very bad. Too bad that for the effort, you might not be surprised how successful private postal delivery services may do in comparison.
Again it highlights the gross boated corruption that is clear about the country. Poor Low Level bureaucrats is because of Poor management, Poor management can be continually found as you go higher up the chain. Really, I mean, If I were a successful businessman, I would probably launder my money in singapore with some loop holes and keep manufacturing low key in the phils. Really, any progress higher than a small-to medium business ($20k) always falls in the radar of Bureau of Internal Revenue that will ask for a bribe (from all of what I've heard, 99% of them do), then follows the politicos that are Warlords of the given area (Mayors, etc), and if you are in a pretty far off area the curropt police start giving you problems.
I may continue from the post about leaving the country, but you have to play the politics game once your business assets grow larger than a small-medium business. This assumes you are not well connected or elite, this assumes the average joe nobody who wants to strike it rich with hard work and success.
I keep having to tell my dad, this generation is different. Well it really is, because if I had more influence in the matter we'll screw with those a$$holes plans and form alliances just to paint them into a corner of self distructive mistakes. Thats how you beat the bad guys- you rally the divided middle class for small victories against them. Eat the out of their territory a little at a time, but instead of holding the territory diffuse the power in the area among several factions that will check and balance each other. Rinse and Repeat to the next area... and the next and the next...
That is what you do, you don't go off killing people, you let these people eat each other up because they are inefficient, ineffective and stupid. What they have is "First mover advantage" which we learn isnt an advantage- they have commited strategies and resources, This generation and those who want change are innovators and freaking adaptable- they can manuver in and out of the reach of these B*tches as long as they don't know they're in our freaking game.
