"What's Daddy, Chopped Liver?"

Niko is going through his mommy attachment phase. I can only remember mine because of the animosity it created between me and my mom. I think my mommy attachment phase as a kid ended badly, Basically I resented my mom a lot, there was an incident where I told the class I hated her when I was a discussion about it with my mom when I was around grade 1. I can see how a bad removal of attachment can go, in my own childhood. I could not relate with the missing mommy feeling until I became a dad and I missed niko's mommy. Seeing Niko cry and cry when his mom leaves made me realize that the resentment was a coping mechanism. There is no easy way for him or me when i was a younger to grow into understanding the sense of abandonment even if it was only for a day. A day, which is to a baby a very long time. We  learned he can be distracted and heavily engrossed in play. He has that single minded attention I have that frustrates my wife when it is something that interests him...

What I learned while being in Hong Kong

Image
I loved the experience of Hong Kong and it gives me a look of what is a clear example of free trade and unbridled capitalism. Not that I'm a pro-capitalism person, to be clear I'm for balance and mixed strategies: extremes never work out for the best because there is always an exception to the rule. It gives me a lot to compare and contrast with Philippine Closed economic policy versus an Hong Kong's Open Economic Policies. The bottom line is that open economic policies shift the balance and has the potential to being about a lot of unpredictable changes. The problem in the philippines is that the powers that benefit hold that valve and it takes effort to make free up trade. Note that Monopolies/Cartels are how still most business make money in the Philippines.  Notes: after the cost of money-exchange it is Php6 to $1HKD. It is about USD $1 to $7.5 HKD. So its easier to just x6 all the prices to get the Philippine equivalent. Its Php540/90HKD to get the...

Been Busy; Writer-ing

So I've been busy for all over the place. Other than work, I've been busy with the trip to Hong Kong and Setting up my little biz making gaming material. I've inquired in SJ Games and Set up an Account in drive thru RPGs. I have most of my outlines dictated during those long car trips to work and back. So I've a wealth of material and an overwhelming amount of work to do. Quotas and Outlines . ORPGS . The first project is to finally release my open RPG system. Which I will simply name, Open RPG System. Its going to be around 30,000 words long, and would be hosted in both layouted PDF form using the LibreOffice and a Wiki will be hosted. This will take me about 2-3 months, realistically, if I'm able to maintain concentration. Modular Material; foundation for Adventures . Next is the setting material. I've broken it into Ancient, Modern, and Future Era settings. I'll draw on the wealth of material i've already done and enhance it some more. Again th...

Yikes and Attention

My post about My Ideas about the Future of Gaming  has gotten the Highest rating I have ever had, a +3. That's a big deal for me. First surprise was Jay Dugger liked it enough to plug it. Then there is also the fact Nyranth plugged my post! Mr. Atomic Rocket himself.  Its a long post so i'm surprised people liked it. Its not giving me ideas about writing as a living, I know very well that my real life work problems and challenges are the inspiration of my writing. So much am I inspired by frustration that I want a Personal Assistant to help me record and develop all my ideas for my own personal wiki. I want to formularize and process all that input and make a learning tool, for the people part of my team.  Its kinda dangerous amount of information, its all these tricks and techniques I've accumulated but I know I forget as much as I learn everyday THAT I don't take time to document it, drill it in mentally, and further improve on it. Again like my blog po...

Trust Fall-Out

A Client/Business Partner betrayed us. tried to bribe IT to access OUR server. Among other things, we caught them lying too often to that the recorded bribe was just crossing the line. It meant that we can never trust them, that we can never turn our backs and that we can never sleep well.  I value my sanity, and value my family, and sleep helps me maintain all that. So, my mom's recommendation is kick them out and let them pay us for the troubles.  One they will pay for the recruitment, training and transfer all the agents, allowing them to keep their jobs (unfortunately under new and really crappy management) Second they will pay WITH CONSIDERATION for all the equipment, modifications (and payment to dismantle all the modifications).  and for all our trouble a sizable margin in consideration for the mess they made.  It would be more profitable to let them stay IN ONE PERSPECTIVE, but its HELL watching your back all the time. Get rid of them, ...
